Noise
Organic jitter from a slow noise field.
Noise moves every point a little along a slow, smooth field, so geometric patterns feel alive and hand-made. Points that are shared (a ring's stroke, a network's links) stay attached.

Cost and low power
Cheap: it moves existing elements and adds none. Sheddable in low power (disable: ["noise"]).
Keep amplitude small (a few percent of the size): noise reads as life at low amounts and as a glitch at high ones.
Props
Organic jitter from a slow gradient-noise field. In an FX Spec: /materials/noise. Off until noise.strength is above 0.
| Prop | FX Spec | Type | Range | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
noise.amplitude | /materials/noise/amplitude | number | 0–1 (UI 0–0.15) fraction | 0.04 | Jitter distance as a fraction of the frame. |
noise.scale | /materials/noise/scale | number | 0–64 (UI 0.5–8) | 2 | Size of the noise field in cells across the frame. |
noise.seed | /materials/noise/seed | number | −∞–∞ (UI 0–100) | 0 | Seed of the noise field. |
noise.speed | /materials/noise/speed | number | 0–16 (UI 0–2) | 0.4 | How fast the noise field drifts (per second). |
noise.strength | /materials/noise/strength | number | 0–1 fraction | 0 | Amount of organic jitter; 0 turns the material off. Also accepted: noiseStrength. |
